As we conclude the old year and look forward to the new one, let’s pause to give thanks and to make plans for a spectacular year ahead. And while we’re at it, let’s remember the words of a man named Dag Hammarskjöld, the late U.N. Secretary General, who spoke for thoughtful New Year’s revelers everywhere when he observed, “For what has been: thanks! For what will be: yes!”
The new year is filled with possibilities. To make the most of those possibilities, do your homework, behave yourself, and pay attention to your parents, grandparents, and teachers. When you do, the next 365 days will be very good days for you and for the people who care about you.
